Orbit connects your transcript to UMD's catalog so you always know what's done, what's left, and what to take next.
Orbit doesn't replace Testudo or Advisors, it connects them and adds the planning layer they were missing.
Map eight semesters of courses, requirements, and credits. See exactly where you stand toward graduation.
Orbit breaks your degree into every requirement category. It finds courses that double-count across your major and Gen Eds, so you can graduate faster.
No more juggling Testudo tabs. Add the courses you need, set your preferences, and generate every valid schedule in seconds. Then save the ones you like.
Orbit adds four-year planning, a schedule builder, and a live degree audit on top of UMD's official systems—without replacing them.
| Capability | Orbit | Testudo | uAchieve |

Orbit started in 2023 as a side project by a UMD computer science student who kept second-guessing his four-year plan. uAchieve was confusing, Testudo didn't show the full picture, and spreadsheets kept breaking.
The goal was simple: one tool that takes your transcript and shows you exactly what's left, what to take next, and how it all connects. No advising office required.
Today it's used by students across every college at UMD. It's still free, still student-built, and still focused on one thing: making degree planning obvious.
"I was having trouble managing my schedule and Orbit has been a huge help."

Degree planning means trusting a tool with real academic records. Orbit is student-built and free because the goal is clarity - not monetizing your information.
You import your transcript to power your audit and plans. We use it to show progress and requirements - not to build advertising profiles or sell lists to third parties.
Orbit does not sell, rent, or trade student information. Catalog and requirement data power scheduling and audits; your personal academic record is not a product.
Authentication ties your account to you. We only ask for what planning needs: your programs, schedules, and imported credits.
You can remove your account and associated data from Settings. If you have questions about what we store, our team is reachable through the Help page and Privacy Policy.
Orbit is not affiliated with the University of Maryland and is not an official registrar or advising system. For authoritative graduation decisions, always confirm with your advisor and uAchieve. Read the full Privacy Policy and Terms of Service for retention, security practices, and how to request deletion.
No credit card. No sign-up required to try the schedule builder.
